About the Movie
Attappadiye: A Tale of Resilience
Attappadiye is inspired by a simple yet powerful vision shared in Anand Mahindra’s Sunday post: “A girl was sitting under a tree and studying.” The film tells the story of a girl and her schoolmates who, each day, plant trees on a barren mountain to restore the land, with the aim of turning it into a thriving forest. When faced with opposition from woodcutters, the group’s mission grows into a larger movement for environmental preservation.

FORESTIFICATION
Forestification – Reviving the Planet, One Forest at a Time
Forestification is a global movement dedicated to afforestation, species conservation, and sustainable forestry. Founded by Sathar Al Karan, the initiative focuses on planting trees, restoring biodiversity, and working with local communities to protect the environment.
In Attappadiye, the Forestification team has already started planting trees in the filming location to ensure that the movie’s impact is real, not just cinematic.
